Hey, Taylor, I'm a friend of your dad's mom (Grandma Dutton?). Martha and I have known each other longer than either of us care to remember. I've known your dad since he was a little squirt. I will try to think of some good stories to tell you about him. If I can't remember any, I'll make up some. You hang in there, darling girl. Attitude is everything! And, your upbeat attitude can only make you stronger. I'm praying for you and thinking positive thoughts. With love, Karo. NOW THAT'S A STORY: My name is Carolee but your dad couldn't say it when he was little, so he called me Karo.

I am so sorry that you're back in the hospital and having bad headaches, honey. I know this is keeping you from doing the fun things you like and want to do, and I hope you will soon be home again and feeling better. I know that your doctors will soon find out what is causing the headaches so that they can come up with the right medication for you. I hope the fundraising activities are growing each day to help Mom and Dad with your medical expenses and I know you are aware that many people are thinking about you, sending you best wishes, and making whatever contribution they can afford to the Taylor Hay Fund. Will call you tonight and see how you're feeling, okay? Loved the picture of you and Lauren wearing your masks. Are you two planning to hold up a bank any time soon? Much love, Granma

My husband, Buzzie, and I live in CT with our adorable dog (part toy poodle and part Maltese) whose name is Molly. Peggy has been sending us updates to keep us informed of your progress and we just wanted to let you know we are thinking of you and that you're in our prayers. I'm sorry that nasty headache is still with you. One of the sweet girls here in FL is making you a special gift. She made one for me because of MY headaches, and I'll bring one to you when I come. Taylor, We are missing you in school this week. The field trips were fun. The weather was beautiful when we went to the Cabrillo National Monument. We saw a submarine coming in when we got there. It was cool!!! We had a tour with a volunteer ranger and then we got to see a video on the tidepools. We ate lunch in a beautiful area where we saw many squirrels. After lunch we walked up to the lighthouse and walked on some trails. Our group saw a sealion playing in the waves. Today we went to the Ramona Theater to see the production of "Narnia". It was fabulous. I thought of you a lot and knew you would enjoy being there. The singing and the acting were really good. I was rellyn proud of the students from Ramona Community School. You would have been a great addition to the cast. Student Council had it's jog-a-thon/jumprope-a-thon today at lunch--not too many students participated. Disappointing---but fun for those who participated. Sorry to hear of your headaches and your impaired immune system. I hope you build your system back up very soon. We miss you at school. It is so important that you stay in a place to prevent you from getting the germs. Many students in our class have gotten the flu lately. You do not need to get the flu. It feels so yucky!!!!! We miss you, but we know that you need to juswt get better. Hang in there. We love you. Always, Mrs. Crossett

Dear Taylor - I never would have known about you except for the fact that I have saved Thunder Dancer's Dream Horse ad on my computer, and when I was looking at his ad again tonight I clicked on the link to your family's web site. The website home page led me here, and our shared love of horses led me to your guestbook and the opportunity to tell you that my family and I will be keeping you in our prayers. I don't believe anything in life is a coincidence. I believe all things are woven together in an interesting tangle of threads that will come together and be revealed as a beautiful tapestry that we'll be able to see and appreciate in its entirety one day. I am an adult with a grown daughter and two grandchildren. Although I, myself, have not had cancer, several members of my family have. My oldest sister just had extensive cancer surgery on Wednesday, and although I can't even begin to say I know what you or your family are going through, I can appreciate the fact that at times it must be sad, frightening, exhausting and more. I just wanted you to know that there are people out here who will be thinking of you and praying for you as well as for all those who love you and are caring for you. I appreciate your generosity and courage in giving up your hair to help someone else. That was a wonderful gesture, and I am sure you will have made a huge difference in someone else's life. And your short hair is VERY cute! Praying blessings and healing for you and yours ~ Elizabeth Bailey
